Hello
I need help figuring out which pass to buy.
I will be traveling for 15 days arriving on April 3rd leaving on April 17.

My visits are:

Tokyo (April 3-7)
Day trip to Disneyland while in Tokyo
Day trip to Mt Fuji while in Tokyo
Tokyo to Kyoto April 8-10
Kyoto to Osaka April 11-15
Day trip to Universal Studios while in Osaka
Day trip to Kobe while in Osaka
Back to Tokyo April 16-17
Flight on April 17

If the 14 day pass is the option for me which other method should I use or buy to use on the remaining of my itinerary. Suica card or another pass? Or my own credit card

Hi there,

The two options I would recommend would be to either purchase a 14-day JR Pass, or purchase your tickets individually. It is likely that purchasing a JR Pass would be a less cost-effective option as your itinerary cost would not amount to the cost of a 14-day JR Pass. However, all of your itinerary is covered by the JR Pass, so the choice is yours in terms of the trade-off of convenience and price.

For the remainder of the itinerary, you can use either Suica (depending on if you're planning on purchasing one already for local transport) or purchase an individual ticket - do whatever is most convenient to you. If you, for example, had extra credits on the Suica and didn't want to spend them on (e.g.) airport shopping, you could use it for the train to the airport.

Kind regards,

Alexis
