Have rules about missing reserved trains changed?

If missing a reserved shinkansen seat, will there be an issue for me travelling on a later train on the same day? I have an issue with my lugguage and will not make the transit time for my original reservation.

Hi there,

No there won't, as long as you make a reservation for the next train (or book a seat in an unreserved carriage).
