We've received our JR Passes.
How can I use them to book a trip online? I already understood that you have to do this at a station before using them for the first time.
Our first trip for which we want to use the passes, is on Thursday, January 1, 2026, from Fujikawaguchiko to Takayama. But we'll first travel to Mishima to take the Shinkansen from there.

Mishima Station has a JR Pass exchange office. However, we recommend exchanging the pass once you arrive in Japan for greater convenience. Please find the exchange office locations here.
After obtaining your JR Pass, you will be able to make a seat reservation for your first trip from Mishima Station to Takayama Station at any JR Ticket Office (Midori no Madoguchi) or using ticket machines located in the station.
