Japan rail use for Canadian 7 day pass

Hello, we will be travelling from Tokyo to Kyoto on May 21 (stay 3 nights) and from Kyoto to Osaka May 24 (stay 3 nights) and return to Tokyo on May 27, 2024. Would the 7 day pass worked? Is it more economical to purchase individual Shinkansen trains and buy daily tickets. Does JR pass covers internal Kyoto and Osaka trains as well. I tried to calculate regional tickets just to get the ball park as the new JR pass is quite significant. Your advise is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi there,

For your itinerary it is likely to be more cost-effective to purchase your tickets individually. However, the JR Pass will cover all of your itinerary and so it is still an option worth looking into if you feel that a pass is better suited for you.
