Narita airport to Kyoto. Kyoto to Tokyo. Tokyo to Narita airport

Hi there,

Wondered if you could help me...I'm staying in Japan for 10 days. When I arrive in Narita airport I plan to head straight to Kyoto by taking the Narita Express to Tokyo station and transferring to the Shinkansen. Is the Shinkansen included in the JR pass?
I'll be staying in Kyoto for 5 days and then heading back from Kyoto to Tokyo (Shinjuku) to explore Tokyo for 5 days. Will a 7 day JR pass be enough?

Hi there,

Yes, the Shinkansen is covered by the JR Pass. If you are interested I recommend reading more about the Tokaido Shinkansen.

A 7-day JR Pass will be plenty here and cover all your major travel.
