Hi there,
Here's an itinerary from Hakuba to Sapporo that uses the JR Pass. Be warned though, it is a 14 hour trip!
The ticket cost for this trip is ¥29,130, so in this case it makes sense to buy a 7 day JR Pass at ¥28,300 even if you only use it for this trip.
