I checked but there is not really a pass that matches your timing and places, and at the same time will help you make savings. As such, I recommend purchasing normal rail tickets in advance.

Thank you Daniel-san. Would you recommend we advance purchase the JR Rail Pass even if it won't save money? Is there any advantage to buying in advance like pre-selecting our seats and avoiding long lines on the day of trip?

If you don't mind spending a bit more, the JR Pass may be useful in terms of planning and organising your trip.

You'll still have to reserve seats, which can be done digitally and at short notice (provided there is space on the train!) so you won't have to wait in any long lines. All of this can be done in advance as well, which is always helpful.
