Whether to buy JR pass or not?

Hi Daniel San,

We are a family of 4 adults and one 5 year old, travelling to Japan from 2nd june to 21st of june. Our itinerary is as follows:

2nd june: Narita international airport to Tokyo
3rd June: Tokyo
4th june: Disneyland
5th June: Tokyo
6th June: Fuji kawaguchiko
7th June: Kyoto
8th June: Kyoto
9th june: Arashiyama
10th june: Osaka
11th June: Osaka
12th june: nara
13th June: Osaka
14th June: Osaka
15th june: flight from Kansai airport to Sapporo
16th June: Sapporo
17 june: Sapporo
18th june: flight from asahikawa to Tokyo Haneda airport
19th: Tokyo
20th: Tokyo
21st: narita international airport

Please suggest if we should go for JR pass and for how many days. Thank you so much.

Hello K-san,

I checked and a JR Pass would not help you make savings. This because you cover your long distance travel by flying and the only intercity trip left is Tokyo - Osaka by rail. As such, the best advice I can give you is buying normal tickets as you travel.
