We are six elderly people - all over 70 !!! planning a 10 day tour of Tokyo, Mt Fuji, Hakone, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka. Our Agent has purchased a 7 day JR Pass(Ordinary).
Our Qs :
1. Since the pass will be activated from the day its first used, can we extend the same Pass by paying for extra 3 days ?
2. Is this an unlimited rail travel for seven days over all sectors? Are there any restrictions on their use?
3. Can we upgrade our Passes to Green Car for a particular sector by payng extra?

Hi there,
1.) A JR Pass can't be extended I'm afraid.
2.) The JR Pass is unlimited - you can get on as many trains as you'd like.
3.) It is possible but the prices are very high and generally not worth it compared to buying a Green Pass from the start.
