Question if Family of 4 Purchase JR Pass

Hi - Do you think a family of 4 (adults) should get the 14 day JR Pass? I cannot tell if I should get JR Pass since we are traveling in the city and need to get a subway pass more often traveling in Tokyo. I know after price increase it won't be worth it but prior, would it be worth it? I am concern we are traveling during Xmas Holidays and New Years if we don't get JR Pass we won't be able to book a seat. I heard the Suica cannot find for city traveling, so what should I buy to use? Thanks again for your help. I just want to purchase JR Pass if it is worth it since time constraints here. Thanks for your help!

Day 1 - Narita to Tokyo
Day 2 - Tokyo
Day 3 - Tokyo
Day 4 - Tokyo
Day 5 - Tokyo to Osaka
Day 6 - Osaka
Day 7 - Osaka
Day 8 - Osaka
Day 9 - Osaka to Kyoto
Day 10 - Kyoto
Day 11 - Kyoto to Tokyo
Day 12 - Tokyo
Day 13 - Tokyo to Narita Airport

Hi Lily,

A JR Pass, at the new pricing, will not give you savings on this trip in the new year.

My advice would be to buy normal rail tickets. Suica is also recommended as it makes local travel very easy.

Thanks you but I thought Suica is sold out? What if I get JR tickets now before the prices go up. Would you recommend JR Pass or you think it is better to get normal rail tickets? Thanks again for all your effort. That would mean $327 Times 4 for 4 people. Is it worth $327 for my travels with the above itinerary?
