Hi there!

Here is an itinerary for a rail trip from Osaka to Furano. Be warned however, at nearly 2000km distance, even with the bullet trains this trip comes in at whopping 16 hours!

You may well be better off buying a return flight on one of the budget airlines such as skymark who will start operating Osaka Kansai to Sapporo routes from march 2012. While it is normally quite inconvenient to get a plane for shorter hops, this sort of travel may be more suited to a flight.
