Hello. I'm just wondering which pass I should get and when I should buy it. I'll be spending 25 days in Japan and will be going everywhere. I'll only be taking one shinkansen because they're so expensive, and the rest just buses. The first 4 days I will just be in Tokyo.

Hi there,
I wouldn’t recommend you picking up a pass if you plan on taking just one Shinkansen train and no other trains. This, in combination with the fact that you’ll be moving around for 21 days, means that it’ll probably be best to purchase all of the necessary bus fares/tickets separately without the use of a pass.
