if i have a japan rail pass & the only suitable time is a nozzumi train , do i buy another ticket or can use j/pass
& pay extra. hope you can enlighten me. thanks.

Hi Mick,
As a Japan Rail Pass holder if you want to use the Nozomi service you'll have to pay the full fare I'm afraid. In general there are non-Nozomi alternatives you can use unless you are on a really tight schedule. If you let me know your schedule I'd be happy to take a look for you.
