Obtain JR passes if Narita airport station is closed after hours

The exchange office at Narita Airport is open until 21:45. So there may be a chance that you'll be able to exchange the JR Pass. There won't be an other place available at that time where you can exchange the JR Pass. My advice would be to travel to Shinjuku in the evening using local trains and then exchange the JR Pass the following morning at Shinjuku station. An alternative would be to stay near Narita and come back the following morning but as you say this would mean booking more than 1 hotel. Personally I would just use local trains to travel to Shinjuku this would cost ¥ 1,490 per ticket.

Thank you it helps.. However,.I was told that you can only exchange for the JR passes at the airports and Tokyo station where they have JR Travel Centers...sorry but could you verify this...a good source suggested this. If it turns out I can go to the Shinjuku station that would be great....also, do local trains (could you tell me which ones) run fairly late at night? You never know with customs and issues do arise that can make an hours process into many. Trying to be positive but sometimes I attract the oddest situations...thanks Daniel
