Hi we are travelling to Japan in a few weeks and I am trying to work out whether it is worth getting a JR pass and if so which one.
1. We arrive in Haneda airport early morning and are going straight to Disney (is there a JR train to take us I can only seem to find bus and taxi options to take us to Disney from Haneda)?
2. On day 4 we travel from Disney we travel to Kyoto (I assume this will be via JR train)
3. On day 8 Kyoto to Tokyo (I assume this will also be via JR train)
4. Then finally Tokyo back home from Haneda airport on day 14.
Is it worth getting a JR pass for the itinerary above?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
TK

Hi there,

1.) You can travel there using the JR Pass but it is a bit of a longer route, so a direct bus may be more convenient. Using the JR Pass take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho station, transfer to the JR Yamanote line to Tokyo station and from there use a local train to Maihama station, the JR stop for Disneyland.

2.) Yes

3.) Yes

4.) A 7-day JR Pass is worth it if you use it to travel to Kyoto and back to Tokyo.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
