Hi,
I will be traveling Japan from 8/9/2025 to 29/9/2025. Part of my travel plan is independent travel, and I need to book train tickets on;

08/09/2025 from Tokyo Haneda Airport to Shinjuku Washington Hotel
23/9/2025 from Osaka to Beppu,
25/9/2025 from Beppu to Yufuin,
27/9/2025 from Yufuin to Fukuoka
29/9/2025 from Fukuoka to Fukuoka Airport

Can I book above tickets individually? What other transport pass is recommended for my duration in Japan?
Would you recommend WIFI Pass.
Currently I purchased 30says eSIM (Airalo app).

Since I am over 65 years of age, I am getting nervous.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi Jolanta,

For this trip, I would recommend looking at a JR Kyushu pass. You can read our review here. This will include your travel from Fukuoka (Hakata Station) to Yufuin and back, in also covered the famous Yufuin-no-mori train.

You probably would not need a Pocket WiFi, unless you plan on using multiple devices, like an iPad and Laptop.
