We will be in Japan in April 2023 and would like to travel from Okayama to Yamagata, one way. It looks like there is no direct train, and we will have to change trains in Tokyo. Is this in the same station or will we need to get to a different train station. Are large suitcases allowed onboard the train? How difficult is it to change stations in Tokyo?

Hi there,
Tokyo is the connection terminal for basically anywhere in Japan. You can make the transfer there, and won't have to go to an other station.
