Hi,

This will be our first time to Japan. Young family with a 3 year old boy. We will be in Tokyo from Nov 18th - Nov 30th. Could you please let us know if our itinerary is okay?

Nov 18: land Haneda at 9.40 PM
Nov 19: Tokyo
Nov 20: Tokyo
Nov 21: Nagoya
Nov 22: Nagoya
Nov 23: Kyoto
Nov 24: Kyoto
Nov 25: Kyoto
Nov 26: Osaka
Nov 27: Osaka
Nov 28: Tokyo
Nov 29: Tokyo
Nov 30: depart Narita at 11.05 AM

If we buy a 7 day pass on the 21st, that means we should go back to Tokyo by 27th. Do you have a suggestion on how to make our itinerary better? Thanks!

Hi there,

The base plan of your itinerary looks good. Unless you have specific plans, I would recommend staying less time in Nagoya. This is very much a business city but not so much for tourism. You could a bit more time in any other of the cities your visit or be a bit more adventurous and travel in a circle via the north back to Tokyo via Kanazawa and may be Nagano. The JR Pass would indeed be valid until the 27th if started on the 21st.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
