Hello!
I am Ashumi. I am travelling to Japan from 7th nov to 27th nov. I am planning to visit quite a lot of places and some rural places too. My first 4 days are in tokyo then i am heading to Mt. Fuji and around then Takayama , Kyoto, Hiroshima, Naoshima and osaka. I have total 20 days and planning to stay at each place for 3-4 days. Can you suggest if 21 day pass would cover my cost? Thank you
Confused if i should buy 14 day or 21 day pass
Hi Ashumi Jhaveri,
Travel within Tokyo and Fuji is not very costly, it is your long distance travel to Takayama, Kyoto and so on where you can make real savings. So, if you can do this part in 14 days, get a 14 day pass, else a 21 day Japan rail pass.
Kind regards,
Daniel
Thank you Daniel,
This is my tentative itinerary
8-11th - tokyo
11t-13th - Mt. Fuji and around
13th-16th - Matsumoto,Takayama, shirakawago and around
16-19th - Kyoto and around
20th - Hiroshima
21st -22nd - Naoshima
23rd - 24th Okayama
25th- 27th - osaka, nara and around
28th - early monring flight from osaka
Hi again,
I think you'd be fine using a 14-day Japan Rail Pass from the 13th to the 26th, and just use normal tickets around that.
Kind regards,
Daniel
