We are landing in Osaka and want to visit Osaka, Fukuoka, Yanagawa and Nagasaki then return to Kobe for 1 week. Is it worth getting a JR pass for the first week as we make our way to Kyshu? Or are local trains better? we are looking for a more inexpensive way.

Hi there!
The Sanyo-San'in Northern Kyushu Pass covers your itinerary and would be the best choice. It offers excellent value, as it includes unlimited travel across these regions and covers the Shinkansen services you'll need for your journey.
I hope this helps!
Kind Regards,
Mariko
