Hi
I am travelling from Narita to Kanazawa then to Matsuyama and back to Tokyo.
Will you suggest the best way to use the JR for this itinerary?
Would there be many changes of trains?

Hi there,

I would certainly recommend using a 7 day JR Pass here. You can make great savings using the JR Pass and the JR Pass will cover all your travel.

Let's dig a little into detail: Travel from Narita to Kanazawa, take the Narita Express to Tokyo and then the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Kanazawa.

From Kanazawa to Matsuyama. This is a bit longer, take the Thunderbird express from Kanazawa to Shin-Osaka. At Shin-Osaka take a Sakura Shinkansen to Okayama. From Okayama use a ltd. express train to Matsuyama.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
