Hi,

My itinerary breakdown is as follows:

1st day: Haneda - Asakusa
2nd: Asakusa
3rd: Tokyo
4th: Tokyo
5th: Fujikawaguchiko - Mt Fuji
6th: Osaka shi
7th: Kyoto
8th: Osaka shi - USJ
9th: Kansai

1) Can the JR pass be used throughout from Haneda- Asakusa - Fujikawaguchiko - Osaka shi - Kansai airport?

2) Is there a need to buy other rail pass on top of the JR pass?

3) Is it more economical to buy the 7 day JR pass or buy the day use passes?

4) On which day should I activate the 7 day JR pass as the trip is 9 days?

Appreciate your advise. Thks.

Hi there,

I'm going to answer your 3.) question first, as it is the most important. A JR Pass is useful when you travel longer distances. For instance a return Tokyo - Osaka already pays for the pass but you will be traveling just one way with a stop at Fuji. With this in mind I would just buy normal tickets.

Hope this helps
Daniel
