Hello my husband and I will be visiting for 2 weeks before heading to Okinawa.

Arrive on 5/16 at Haneda and plan to stay in Tokyo for 3 nigbts.
Then in Hakone for 2 nights.
Kyoto for 2 nights
Osaka for 3 nights
Hiroshima for 2 nights
Kobe for 1 night, then fly to Okinawa from Kobe.

Is it best to get a regular JR Pass or a Tokyo wide pass, Hakone Free Pass, and then a JR west regional pass for this itinerary? Or any other combination of passes and regular train tickets?

Thank you kindly!!

Hi there,

You can probably purchase all of your tickets individually, but if you find benefit in the ease of use of rail passes a JR Pass with a Hakone FreePass would work fine.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
