Hi, This is a review itinerary and i was wondering if activating the 14 days pass on the 4th day is a good idea? Also, can the pass be used throughout travels within the Kansai Region(subways and buses) and does the JR pass entails subway travels in Tokyo?

Day 1
SG to NRT
Keisei Skyliner to Ueno (change to Shinjuku/Shibuya)

Day 1-3:
Tokyo

Day 4-7:
Tokyo-Kyoto 2 days + 2 days Naoshima?

Day 8-11:
Kyoto-Osaka + Nara

Day 12-13:
Osaka- Tokyo
(VERY EARLY MORN/Same time as leaving tokyo for kyoto)

Day 13-15:
Tokyo

Please let me know what are the best ways to make use of the travel pass in Japan for this itinerary?
Thank you,
Jayne

Hi,
A 14 day pass would not pay off for your plans. Close, but not quite. If you add another side trip, then it would make sense.
And as you asked already, you cannot use the JR Pass on city buses and subways.

Good luck.
