Hi. My itinerary is as follows :-

Day 1 - KIX - Osaka arriving at 9.05pm
Day 2 - Osaka
Day 3 - Osaka
Day 4 - Osaka - Nara day trip - Osaka
Day 5 - Osaka - Kyoto
Day 6 - Kyoto
Day 7 - Kyoto
Day 8 - Kyoto - Himeji Castle - Kinosaki Onsen
Day 9 - Kinosaki - Arima Onsen - Kyoto
Day 10 - Kyoto - Wakayama
Day 11 - Wakayama
Day 12 - Wakayama - KIX

How is my itinerary? Is it ok?

My plan is to buy a 5-days Kansai Wide Area Pass for Day 8 to 12. Is it correct?
How about Day 2 to 7 (6 days)
- Do I buy a 4-Days Kansai Area Pass and a 2-Days Kansai Area Pass? - Or do I buy a Kansai One Pass?

Thank you.

Hi there,

Your itinerary looks okay to me, only the day Himeji and Kinosaki Onsen looks busy but I think it will be alright if you spend the day in Himeji then take a train to Kinosaki-Onsen just to stay the night, you could then explore Kinosaki the following morning.

Note that you are allowed to purchase only one Kansai Area Pass per visit to Japan. Getting a 5 day pass is likely the best option for the last 5 days.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

My plan is to visit Himeji Castle and Kokoen Garden in the morning and head on to Kinosaki Onsen by 3pm.
Yes, I'll will be exploring more of Kinosaki on the following Day 9 after staying a nite in a ryokan.

Thank you for informing me that I can only purchase one Kansai Area Pass per visit!
I thought I can buy a few passes for my entire trip.

In this case, can I just buy and use ICOCA Pass for Day 1-7?

Thanks again for your kind attention and prompt reply. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi again,

I checked the usage condition again but could no longer find the limitation of one pass per visit. This used to be there in the past but it may have been removed quietly. In any case, good news for you :)

You could of course use an ICOCA as alternative.

Kind regards,
Daniel
