Hi I will be going to Japan first time and am considering whether to use Kansai Wide Area pass.. Here are my questions regarding :

1) Non-reserved Seats
Do we need still to pay for non-reserved seats on JR Limited Express, JR Rapid, JR Shinkansen & JR Hakuto ?

2) Major routes to be covered by the pass :
- Wakayama to Kyoto - JR Limited Express Kuroshio - Kyoto to Shin Osaka - JR Rapid or JR Limited Express - Shin Osaka to Himeji - JR Shinkansen - Himeji to Maiko - JR Special Rapid or Shinkansen or Super Hakuto - Maiko to Shin Osaka - JR Shinkansen

Is it worthwhile to buy the pass ?

Hi there,

For the Kansai Wide Area Pass

1.) Non reserved seats can be used for free.

2.) These routes are all covered.

The pass would be well worth it with such a rich itinerary.

Have a great trip!
