Hello any suggestions of activities or more efficient order of stays is warmly received. I’m taking my high school grad his choice to Japan 14 days. I’m so excited to be able to have this memorable trip together and know this will be our last trip together as he approaches manhood and find his own path and interests. It’s a bitter sweet time as his mom as so hard to let him fly.
What do think of this proposed itinerary, first time in the country and I’m unsure of which trains take me most efficiently to my destinations. Thank you in advance. 🌿

Flying into Tokyo and out of Osaka..

Tokyo 5 nights
Hakone day trip
Mt Fuji 1 night
Kyoto 3 nights
Nara day trip 1 day
Koyasan 2 nights
Osaka 2 nights

Hi there,

That sounds like such a beautiful and meaningful trip! I hope you enjoy every moment of this special time together.

The best option for your itinerary is a combination of the JR Kansai Area Pass and individual tickets. Please note that some private railways are not covered by the pass. For route searches and timetables, you can use Navitime.

I recommend the following blog posts for itinerary tips:

Kind Regards,

Mariko
