Question 1: How do we get from Narita Airport to Shinagawa Station? Is it via a special train, please help with details!!

You can take the Narita Express, which is fully covered by the JR Pass.

Question 2. Can we get shinkansen tickets at the Airport or we have to wait till we get to Shinagawa Station?

You can activate your JR Pass at Narita Airport and start using it straight away. Once activated, you can make seat reservations for both the Narita Express and your future Shinkansen journeys at the JR station within the airport.

Question 3. Do you have the Shinkansen schedule from Shinagawa to Hiroshima? is there a website that I can get this info?

Yes, you can use Navitime.

Question 4. Do you recommend we purchase shinkansen ticket in advance / is there help at the Shinagawa Shinkansen Station who speaks English?

Yes, I recommend making seat reservations as soon as you arrive in Japan. There is a Meet and Greet service at the airport that can assist you with this upon your arrival.

Question 5. Are there shinakansen service from Hiroshima to Kanazawa?

You will need to take a few trains to get from Hiroshima to Kanazawa. You can search for the best routes and connection times on Navitime.

Question 6. Can we purchase this ticket (Hiroshima to Kanazawa) immediately when we get to Hiroshima?

You can purchase tickets at any JR station at any time while you are in Japan.

Thanks so much for your reply.....however, your answer are more directly related to JR Pass which we do not intend to purchase as there will be 4 of us travelling.
Price of the JR pass is pretty expensive ($461 person) & a rough calculation using JR Pass website said with JR pass, a savings of CAD 11 per person
- Also, we don't think a 7 days pass (April 5 to April 10 only) works for us!! We will be arriving Tokyo on April 5 , heading to Hiroshima on same day then onto Kanazawa (April 8).
From there to Hakone (April 10) and finally get to Tokyo on April 12, flying home to Canada on April 14!!

Unless there is a way to get to Tokyo without the JR rail on April 12?
If so, please advise!

Assuming without JR pass and hence no activation upon arrival.....you think we can get shinkansen tickets easily to all these destinations?
Thinking tickets should be on sale as we are travelling within month of April !!

In Tokyo upon arrival (April 5 am), while using the Narita Express to get to Shinagawa Station, also buy the shinkansen ticket from JR station at Airport for 'Shinagawa to Hiroshima'
Upon arrival in Hiroshima (April 5 whenever), get the tickets from there to Kanazawa on April 8 am
Upon arrival in Kanazawa (April 8 whenever), get the tickets to Hakone on April 10 am
Then lastly, in Hakone (April 10 whenever) get the ticket to Tokyo for April 12

That's the currently plan I have for transportation from / to all the places. Is this a workable plan?
For now, don't prefer to do any advance booking as we are only in the planning stage, dates may vary!!
