My boyfriend and I are coming to Japan on Feb 3
We fly into Narita and have the following train trips during our stay:
Tokyo - Osaka (Feb 10)
Some day trips to Kyoto between Feb 10 and 14
Osaka - Kanazawa (Feb 14)
Kanazawa - Nozawa Onsen (Feb 16)
Nowaza Onsen - Tokyo (Feb 22)
Can we use the JR pass to complete all of these trips and would it be cost effective?

Yes, a JR Pass would cover all these trips. For the most effective use of the JR Pass, I would buy a 7 day JR Pass from Feb 10th - Feb 16th. Then just buy a one way Nozawa - Tokyo.
