Hi :) Just want to ask if its a good idea to get a 7 Day Pass. Here's our itinerary.
May 1 - Arrival in Osaka
May 2-3 Osaka
May 4 - Travel to Kyoto
May 5 - Kyoto
May 6 - Travel to Tokyo
May 7 - 10 Tokyo
May 11 - Departure Tokyo
Can we use the JR Pass in the public transport in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo as well?

May is still quite a long way off but it is nearly too early to book your trip to Japan.
As for transport, a JR Pass would be useful if used for a return Osaka - Tokyo. I see that you go just one way.
With that in mind, I would buy normal rail tickets.
