Hi there,

My partner and I will be travelling Japan in October and just wanted to check if I have the right idea or if there are any better suggestions regarding tickets. Our travel will be as follows:

Tokyo 13-19 Oct
Kyoto 19-21 Oct
Osaka 21-24 Oct (with a day trip to Nara in there)
Kinosaki Onsen 24-25 Oct
Hiroshima 25-27 Oct
Tokyo 27-29 Oct

I was considering buyingan individual ticket from Tokyo to Kyoto and then the JR Sanyo Sanin Area Pass to use from the 21st of Oct to cover travel from Kyoto > Osaka & Nara > Kinosaki Onsen > Osaka through to Hiroshima and finally from Hiroshima to Kyoto and then buying an individual ticket from Kyoto to get us back to Tokyo. Looks like this should save a fair bit of money but I just wanted to confirm.

Any help or advice is appreciated thankyou.

Hi there,

Yes, this is likely a better option for you over purchasing a regular JR Pass - more info on the Sanyo-Sanin Area Pass can be found here.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
