Hi, We are a family of 4 adults travelling to Japan in 3 days. I wanted to check if it makes sense for us to buy the JR pass for our itenary
The trains we till take are
Tokyo -> Kyoto
Kyoto-> Hiroshima
Hiroshima -> Kyoto
Kyoto -> Tokyo

We have 3 trolley bags of luggage, can we bring them on the train?

If we should be buying the JR pass is our tourist visa enough as document? We are Indian citizens, 3 of us live in India and 1 of us has been living in Germany for 10 years. Do we need any other document?

As our flight is already in 2 days, can we order the pass and have the Exchange paper delivered to us at our hotel in Tokyo?

Thank you so much in advance, any info will be helpful

Best Regards,
Deepa Prabhu

Hi there,

Our blog post here has more info on boarding JR trains with luggage - whether you can board with your luggage or not is dependent on its size.

You won’t need any other documents - as long as you are not a Japanese citizen you can purchase the JR Pass with visitor status.

There is a possibility you can have the exchange order shipped to your accommodation in Japan - contact [email protected] for more info on this.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
