Hello Kennis,

For your first day in Tokyo, if you can wake up early, visit the Tsukiji fish market. This is the most famous one in Tokyo and you can see the auctions going live. You can also just visit a bit later in the day and taste freshly caught Sashimi. After Tsukiji it would be easy to stop by Ginza, sort of the 5th avenue of Tokyo with tons of high-quality brands but also flagship stores like the Apple and Sony stores showing the latest in tech.

From Ginza it is an easy hop to Ueno or Asakusa. Both have much to offer, there's Ueno park that has many interesting museums and Ueno zoo. In Asakusa you can visit the local temple and thunder gate, it is also easy go use the subway from there to Tokyo Sky tree.

For dinner, the first thing that comes to mind is the Shinjuku Robot restaurant. You need a prior reservation and the cost is a bit high but the experience is well worth it and it is one of the hot things to do in Tokyo right now.

On the route from Tokyo - Sapporo, I think Hakodate is the easiest stop. You can use the Hokkaido Shinkansen directly from Tokyo to Hakodate and you will always have a transfer if you travel further into Hokkaido, making a stopover there makes perfect sense.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
