Hi

Just looking into the JR pass and whether I can use it to complete the following travels...

Tokyo 3 days
Hakone 2 days
Kyoto 4 days
Osaka 3 days
Tokyo 1 day

Not sure whether the JR pass is best value for money or individual train fares?

Hi there,

Your itinerary is one that falls between two stools. That's to say a 7 day JR Pass would have been good if you could make the return to Tokyo within 7 days, while a 14 day JR Pass would need a bit more travel to help you make savings.

As it is right now, the best option would be the buy normal tickets but some changes would quickly make a JR Pass pay off.
