Hi,
Thanks for your really clear website. I posted the above itinerary in, and it showed me it would be cheaper to buy individual tickets. However I haven't included getting to the airport etc. Our exact itinerary is below, I'd appreciate your advice on how best to do this. I am sorry it is so involved.

Arrive Tokyo Narita 5/1/18
Tokyo to Iiyama (Nozawa Onsen) 7/1/18
Iiyama (Nozawa Onsen) to Kanazawa 14/01/18
Kanazawa to Kyoto 16/01/18
Kyoto to Tokyo 19/01/18
Tokyo to Tokyo Narita Airport 21/1/18

I'm thinking that it would still be better to get a 14 day pass from the 7th of Jan to the 21st of Jan. Easier, and it might cover any little day trips we do.

The other problem is that I have left this very late, and am worried I won't have time to receive the documents before we leave. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello Hamish,

You could consider a Rail Pass for convenience, you would not have to buy tickets and can hop on any train you like. As you say, right now you would not make savings but adding a day trip here or there could quickly change that.
