Hello!

I will be taking a train from Tokyo-Kyoto, Kyoto-Osaka, and Osaka-Tokyo, all within a six-day period.

I'm wondering whether it would be best for me to purchase a JR Pass to facilitate this travel? If so, what type of pass should I buy and should I reserve seats ahead of time?

Thank you!

Hi there,

I would suggest purchasing either a Hokuriku Arch Pass or a regular 7-day JR Pass for your trip. Both have their advantages so it depends what you prioritise - a JR Pass will let you use the Tokaido Shinkansen services between Tokyo and Osaka/Kyoto but will cost more than the Hokuriku Pass.

Hope this helps!
