Hi!

I will be travelling with my husband for 8 days in early September and I'd like to get some feedback on my itinerary which is:

Day 1 & 2: Arrive to Tokyo Narita airport (stay 1 full day in Tokyo)
Day 3 & 4: Travel from Tokyo to Osaka (and surroundings, any suggestions?)
Day 5 & 6: Travel from Osaka to Kyoto (and surroundings, any suggestions?)
Day 7: Travel from Kyoto stop over at Mt. Fuji (would like to know where is it easily accesible with a JR pass and that we can also enjoy the view of mt fuji)
Day 7 & 8 - Return to Tokyo (more Tokyo suggestions?)

What would be the best JR pass and would we need any additional in-district trans-passes? JR pass and start using it on Day2 to Day8.

Thank you!

Hi there,

While not in the same order as your itinerary, we have a suggested itinerary for 7 days here very similar to your plans. Maybe you will find it useful for some inspiration.

A 7 day JR Pass would work well here. For Fuji, the easiest place to access would be a visit to Hakone. You can use the JR Pass and Shinkansen to Odawara station. From there you can use (non-JR) transport to explore the Hakone Region. Hakone is great and has a good variety of things to do, even when the weather is not good. There's sort of a full circle itinerary you can do and see all kinds of different things, a Hakone Free Pass can be used in this case.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
