Hello
My husband and I are travelling to Japan for three weeks in October on the following itinerary
Day1-7 Toyko
Day 8-10Hakone
Day 11 -17Osaka visiting Kyoto & Nara
Day 18-21 20Hiroshima/Miyajima
Leave Hiroshima to return to Tokyo for flight home

I am looking to understand whether it is best to get a JR rail pass or regional passes.

Thanks

Karen

Hello Karen,

Given your itinerary, I recommend using a combination of individual tickets and the Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass. Since your long-distance travel is spread over three weeks, this approach will be significantly more cost-effective than a Nationwide JR Pass.

I hope this helps!

Kind Regards,

Mariko
