Hi guys, I am going on 22 days trip (First time) wth my parents, the planning is really taking a toll on me considering the date of travel will be pretty soon on 2 Dec. Need some advices to save as much as possible for the transport.

Here goes my itineraries.

First Week
2-8 Dec: Osaka (Based for 5 nights) & Kyoto (Based for 3 nights) mainly.
4 Dec: Osaka to Nachi Falls/ Naoshima island day trip.
Most of the time will be self-guided tours, 2 days from 2-8 Dec will be with day trip tour with Klook.

Second Week
9 Dec: Kyoto to Shirakagawago (return trip)
10 Dec: Check out from Kyoto hotel and travel to Hakone (Stay for a night)
11 Dec: From Hakone to Izu Peninsula (2 nights stay in Izu)
13 Dec: Izu to MOunt Fuji/ Lake Kawagushi/Gotemba Outlet (stay for 2 nights)
15 Dec: Mishima (Mount Fuji area) to Enoden (Stay overnight in enoden)
16 Dec: Check out from Enoden and travel to Tokyo

Last week
Tokyo (Self-guided tours)

Should I get 7-days Japan Rail Pass for my second week (Fall short of one day since it's midnight to midnight)?
First and last week just get individual tickets using Suica card? Will that be cheaper?

Thanks so much! It will help to offload some mental stress LOL.

Hi there,

In general for your itinerary your cheapest option would be to purchase your tickets individually. For your second week in particular, it includes trips that are covered only by buses or on private railways that would not be covered by the JR Pass, e.g. travel to Shirakawa-go, Hakone and transport around the Fuji lakes. Purchasing tickets doesn't have to be through a Suica, but can also be directly booked online for the relative JR Websites (JR East, West etc.) or on some more user-friendly sites such as JapanTravel by Navitime. Tickets can also be booked in person, either at JR ticket offices or ticket machines which can both be found in JR stations.

Kind regards,

Alexis
