Hello! I’m looking at regional passes to see if any of these would be more economical for the below itinerary, could you please help?
Tokyo to Hakone (and doing the loop) staying for 1 night in Hakone -> Hakone to Kyoto for 4 nights and doing a day trip to Nara during one of those days -> Kyoto to Himeji and then Miyajima (staying for 1 night in Miyajima) -> Miyajima to Hiroshima and then Kanazawa (staying for 2 nights in Kanazawa) -> Kanazawa to Takayama (staying for 2 nights in Takayama) -> Takayama to Tokyo

Hello there,

Since you are traveling all over the Japan, there's really only one pass to look at. That would be the Japan Rail Pass.

The only regional pass I can think of is the Kansai - Hiroshima Area Pass for travel from Kyoto to Himeji/Hiroshima and back to Kyoto (before you go on to Kanazawa).

Kind regards,
Daniel
