Should I buy the 7 or 14 day pass? Also, if buying 7 day pass, on what day should I activate the JR Pass?

Day 1 - 4 Toyko area
Day 5 - 6 Hakone/Mt. Fuji
Day 7-9 Kyoto
Day 10 Kyoto back to Narita

Hi there,
It is really dependent on whether you go to Hakone or the Mt. Fuji area. This is because Hakone is not directly accessible via JRPass alone, whereas you could get to the Fuji area with the shinkansen. If you decide to go to Fuji, then you should probably activate it on your last day in Tokyo, and it will cover all your transport from there.
