Hi! I am travelling to Japan 11 days and my itinarary is:
day 1 Narita Airport- Kanazawa
day 2 Kanazawa-Kyoto
day 3 Kyoto
day 4 Kyoto
day 5 Osaka (day trip)
day 6 Nara (day trip)
day 7 Kyoto-Tokyo
day 8 Tokyo
day 9 Hakone (day trip)
day 10 Tokyo
day 11 Tokyo-Narita Airport

I was wondering based on my itinerary as holder of a 7 days JR pass if I cover all of the travel itinerary points for the first 7 days and if you can suggest what kind of train I can take to reach every destinations.

Thank you very much!

Hello there,

A 7 day JR Pass is recommended for the first 7 days. You'll be traveling enough for a JR Pass to be worth it and all of these places can be reached using the JR Pass.

You can use the Shinkansen to Kanazawa directly from Tokyo, then use the Thunderbird express direct to Kyoto. You can either use local or Shinkansen services directly between Kyoto, Osaka and Nara.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
