Hello, my husband and I will be traveling to Japan this coming June 2023. Our itinerary is as below:

  • Arrive in Narita airport 06/15 at 4 pm
  • Stay in Tokyo from the 15th - 17th
  • Travel to Hakone and stay the night of the 17th
  • Travel to Nagoya and stay from the 18th - 20th
  • Travel to Osaka and stay from the 20th - 23rd
  • Travel back to Tokyo and stay from the 23rd - 27th
  • Fly back on the 27th

Would it be worth it to purchase a 14 day JR pass for our trip? Thanks!

Hi there,

I think the best match would be a 7-day JR Pass from the 17th to the 23rd. This will cover all your expensive train trips and be enough to get you back in Tokyo.

Within Tokyo, you can use local transport that is relatively low cost.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
