My daughter is a student who learn Japanese in Tokyo.
We plan to visit her in the summer and travel with her.
Is it possible to buy her a JR pass online and activate it when we arrive to her?

I understand that its not possible...
So her only option is to buy tickets to every ride separately and get 20% discount? There isnt any pass for students?
(Our plan was to buy JR East pass Nagano Nigata for each family member
