We are in Japan for 4 weeks with the following itinerary - should we get the 21 day pass or perhaps just a 7 day pass for the bigger travel days?

Kanazawa 1 day
Takayama 1 day
Kamikoch 2 days
Matsumoto 1 day
Narai 1 day
Magome 1 day
Kyoto - 2 days
Hiroshima/Miyajama 1 day
Himeji-jo 1 day
Kyoto -3 days
Nara day trip
osaka 1 day
Koyasan 1 day
kobe 1 day
Hakone 1 day
Haneda airport
Does JR Pass make sense or should we just do it for 7 or 14 days

Hi there,
For your multi-region itinerary, a 21-day Nationwide JR Pass is strongly recommended. It covers all your major Shinkansen and long-distance routes, making your journeys seamless and hassle-free. Please note that you will still need to make a seat reservation for the Shinkansen.
Kind Regards,
Mariko

Ok - thank you I was wondering since we are spending lot of time in the alps and not needing many trains there if it still made sense for the entire time to have the JR pass? Or is it more of an issue of convenience rather than cost?
