Hi,

We are arriving in Tokyo on 2nd October.

Our itinerary is as follows:
2nd-4th October: Tokyo (staying along the Yamanote line)
4th - 7th October: Kyoto
7th - 9th October: Hiroshima and Miyajima
9th - 11th October: Hakone
11th-14th October: Tokyo

Is the JR pass worth the cost and is it better to get a 7 or 14 day pass?

Many thanks.

Hi there,

I think you could use a 7-day JR Pass to cover travel from Oct 4th to 9th. These are the high costs routes and best covered with a rail pass.

You do travel enough for a 14-day JR Pass, so this could be an option too if you prefer the extra flexibility.

Kind regards,
Daniel
