Hello,

We plan to visit Japan next month and we may use the JR Pass for the whole trips. We plan to stay in Japan for 16 nights.

See Below:

Arrive in Tokyo and stay for 4 nights include day trip to J Village for football.
Go to Hiroshima and stay for 3 nights - May go to Nagasaki for a day trip and also day trip to Miyajima.
Go to Osaka for 2 nights and go to Himeji for day trip
Go to Koyto for 2 nights
Go to Mount Fuji for 1 night.
Go to Takayama for 1 night and may go to Kanazawa for day trip.
Go to Tokyo for other 3 nights before flight out.

Is this good value for JR pass?

Regards,

Conor

Hi Conor,

For your itinerary, I would recommend the 14-day Nationwide JR Pass as the most convenient option for seamless travel. This pass eliminates the hassle of purchasing individual tickets for your major Shinkansen journeys. Please note that you will still need to make a seat reservation for Shinkansen rides with the JR Pass.

Alternatively, you could consider the 7-day Nationwide JR Pass. You would use this pass just for your most intensive 7 days of long-distance Shinkansen travel, and then use individual tickets for the rest of your trip.

I hope this helps!

Kind Regards,

Mariko
