Hello!

We will be staying in Japan for 3 weeks.
I wanted to ask if the JR Pass for 3 weeks makes sense if we are traveling
-from Narita airport to Tokyo and stay there for one week -visiting Osaka, Kyoto and Hiroshima in week two -go back from Osaka to Tokyo in week three -and need to go back from Tokyo to Narita airport at the end of our stay ?

Is there a train connection between Tokyo and Osaka where we can use the JR Pass without extra costs?

Thanks for your answers in advance!

Hi there,

1.) A 14-day JR Pass is likely the best option here. Local travel within Tokyo is not that costly, and you'd make good savings with a 14-day JR Pass to Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka and back.

2.) Yes, you can use any Hikari train for free between Tokyo and Kyoto/Osaka using the Shinkansen.

Kind regards,
Daniel
