Hi,
I am planning a trip to Japan for some family members in a few months and determining what needs to be done in order to get the JR Passes.
One member of the party only has a U.S. passport, so she will use that when entering Japan.
Two members have U.S. and Japanese passports. From what I researched, both will need to enter on their U.S. passports in order to be eligible to get the JR Pass. Is this correct?
One member only has a Japanese passport and a U.S. green card (over 10 years in the U.S.). It seemed that she is eligible based on this page on the website. I also found two other websites with the same information. But the full regulation indicates that the period to purchase the JR Pass expired on December 31, 2020. So if this is the case, she would not eligible now. Shouldn't the webpage linked above be updated to reflect this information to make it clear that this eligibility is no longer in place. Or has this eligibility been extended - and that's why I am seeing the eligibility indicated on multiple websites?
Thanks for any assistance!
