We are travelling to Japan in September for 17 days and have purchased the 21 day National JR pass. Can you please tell me which trains the pass covers to get to the following:
Kansai Airport to Osaka
Osaka to Hiroshima
Hiroshima to Tokyo
Tokyo to Takayama
Takayama to Nagoya
Nagoya to Kyoto
Kyoto to Kansai Airport
This is our first time to Japan.

You can use the JR Pass between all these cities. The best train/route depends on the time of day that you travel. Therefore, I recommend learning to plan with Hyperdia this way you can find any route/timetable and more. It's a great tool for planning with the JR Pass. We also have a useful interactive map with all JR lines included.
You can also just tell the JR Pass when booking your tickets where you want to go and they'll find the best route for you.
